klinke designs and organizes the careful repurposing of the former school on Bullenhuser Damm in collaboration with people from the neighborhood, as well as those involved in the arts, culture, crafts, small businesses, memory studies, and social work. A place is taking shape that is collectively sustained, self-organized, and constantly evolving. In the coming years, we plan to experiment with different approaches and open the former school’s spaces to a variety of audiences and groups.

Was macht ein Denkmal offen? Wir laden zu einem gemeinsamen Nachdenken über Raum, Erinnerung und neue Nutzungen am Bullenhuser Damm ein – mit der Vereinigung Kinder vom Bullenhuser Damm e.V., der Stiftung Hamburger Gedenkstätten und Lernorte und Hallo: Verein zur Förderung raumöffnender Kultur e.V.
Bei einem Rundgang durch das Haus und am großen Modell sprechen wir darüber, wie Vergangenheit und Zukunft an diesem Ort zusammenkommen können: Welche Nutzungen sind denkbar? Wie können Gedenkstätte und übriges Haus räumlich miteinander verbunden werden? Und wie kann die Geschichte des Hauses in seiner zukünftigen Gestaltung und Nutzung sichtbar bleiben?
Im Anschluss kann die Gedenkstätte Bullenhuser Damm und der Rosengarten besucht werden.
We want to develop klinke together with individuals and groups who wish to contribute to a diverse and supportive community through their ideas and work. Here, an open structure is emerging that develops collectively, is self-organized, and is constantly evolving. A place where people work, research, create, share, and learn new things.
In the coming weeks, we will be working together with the UVM office and everybody who is interested to establish the framework for future uses. The goal is to explore how you can make the spaces of the former school your own—as workspaces, seminar rooms, studios, meeting places, and much more.
